In 2010, the US Marine Corps adopted the HK M27 as its new Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR). Named after the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, which tested the rifles and the IAR concept for over a decade, the M27 replaced the M249 in rifle squads. Once declared "the most tested weapon in the history of the Marine Corps," the M27 has proven its worth repeatedly, from the test ranges at Twentynine Palms to the Global War on Terror and beyond.

Renowned for its precision, durability, and reliability, the M27 has expanded beyond its initial role as an IAR. Today, it serves as an infantry automatic rifle, precision rifle, general infantry rifle, and most recently as part of the short-barreled upper receiver Reconnaissance Weapons Kit (RWK).

Now, civilians can own a piece of Marine Corps history with the limited-run HK MR27, a civilian-legal tribute to the M27. Incorporating the same HK DNA, the MR27 offers the battlefield-proven reliability, durability, and precision of its military counterpart. Only 1,000 MR27 Special Edition rifles will be available.
